Soar into Spring Fashion Show by Chico’s
Soar into Spring with a Fashion Show and Luncheon featuring fashions from Chico’s in Asheville, will be held at Legend on the Lake Restaurant, Rumbling Bald Resort on Monday, April 15, 2019. The exciting event will begin at 12:00 noon and doors will open at 11:30 a.m. The ticket price of $25 includes lunch, fashion show, entertainment and door prizes. Guest will also have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a wide variety of exciting gifts.
Sale on the Trail
Time to clean out that garage or basement and share your treasures with the rest of the world, or at least the hordes of people who flock to Hickory Nut Gorge to participate in the 19-mile Sale on the Trail. The Sale spans 19 miles from Gerton to Bill's Creek. All proceeds from this event support the marketing and operations of the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge.
Easter Sunrise Service
The service takes place beneath 535-million year old Chimney Rock, the monolith for which the Park is named. Gates will be open from 5-6 AM for the 6:30 AM service. This is a ticked event - you must go online at and secure a ticket per vehicle. Tickets available starting on April 1st at 9:00am.
Ring in Spring at Lake Lure Flowering Bridge
Come Ring in Spring at the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM, following the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptor Run. Join the Town of Lake Lure, the Flowering Bridge Volunteers, Lake Lure Classical Academy students and teachers Ring in Spring with festive music and light refreshments. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community and experience the glory of spring. Join us for beautiful music to celebrate spring in the Hickory Nut Gorge. “Lake Lure Flowering Bridge – Gateway to Somewhere Beautiful"
Saturday Night Lights
Find a festive atmosphere with plenty to see and do on every Saturday night, spring through fall. Most weeks will feature Grand Prix horse jumping competitions with big prizes for the winner. Every week features live music, Venetian Carousel rides, kids activities and a variety of dining and shopping. Not to mention plenty of beautiful horses to watch. Both admission and parking are free. You can't beat that! Event gates open at 5 PM and the Grand Prix competitions ($2 million in prize money this season!) or other horse events begin at 7 PM. Lake Lure Classic Boat and Auto Show
Mother's Day Weekend come to the Lake Lure Beach and Town Center and enjoy the Boat Parade on Friday, May 10th from 3:00pm - 4:00pm. On Saturday, May 11th from 10:00am - 4:00pm enjoy the antique boat and car show.
SpringGo & Outdoor Symphony
Join us in the village for a quirky festival that blends the sophisticated refinement of a Symphony with the “excesses” of a few dairy cows and then wraps it all into a celebration of spring renewal. The day's activities include: (Specific times announced soon) Cows in the Pen all day for CowPie Bingo Raffle, World's Shortest Parade complete with our own Mascot dressed like a dairy cow,Catered dinner (included in the admission price to the symphony) ,Spring Concert by the Symphony of Rutherford County,Intermission: Winner of the CowPie Bingo Raffle Announced
Lake Lure Arts & Crafts Festival
The 2019 Spring Lake Lure Arts & Crafts Festival takes place Memorial Weekend Saturday 5/25 - Monday 5/27, beginning at 10am daily. Enjoy 90+ wonderful crafters and artisans selling unique gifts and handmade works of art. There will also be live music and performances throughout the event, food, family-fun and you can also enjoy stunning views of beautiful Lake Lure. It's all happening in downtown Lake Lure across from the beach. Please share! We look forward to seeing you there!
July 3rd Fireworks over the Lake
Come by boat or by car to celebrate our Nation's Independence. Family-friendly event sponsored by the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge with support from the Town of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village. Beach gates open at 8 pm. Fireworks begin at dark. Free admission and free parking in designated areas only. Arrive early and enjoy a picnic or dine at one of the restaurants located within walking distance. Coolers are allowed, but alcohol is not. No pets allowed inside the beach area.
Family Animal Encounter
July 4th is the ultimate summer holiday to spend with family and friends and Chimney Rock is the perfect place to do it. July 4-7 you can challenge yourself on our 32-foot climbing tower, take in the different views on one of our many trails and even get up-close to some of our wilder staff at the 2pm Family Animal Encounter.

Independence Day Sunset Fireworks Hike
This year, celebrate the Fourth of July with your family, friends, guests, and the Swannanoa Valley Museum on a 1.5-mile, moderate hike to the peak of Sunset Mountain. Here, Museum guests will enjoy an old-fashioned watermelon cutting, and then stay to watch the sun set and the fireworks explode over the town of Black Mountain. Hike leaders will share the history and vintage photographs of this most historic place over dinner. Bring a picnic, water, folding chairs, cameras, and flashlights. The Museum will provide watermelon and transport cargo to the summit.
15th Annual Lake Lure Olympiad
The 15th annual sports festival is three days of competitive sports events in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. The festivities kick off on Friday starting with the Golf Tournament and into the evening at Rumbling Bald Resort with Opening Ceremonies, a 10K Dam Run and the 2 mile Couch to Cart Path Run. Competitors then wake up Saturday for the Lake Lure Triathlon consisting of a 750 meter swim, 22.3K bike and a 5K run along a mapped out course at the resort. Families can share in the competitive events with plenty of activities including the Junior Olympiad. Finishing the weekend is the ultimate racing challenge: the 5K run or 25 mile bike to the summit of Chimney Rock.
Dirty Dancing Festival
Experience the movie-inspired dancing, music, arts and entertainment with us Friday and Saturday. Friday starts with the Dance tents, entertainment, food trucks, wine and beer tent and then as the sun sets get nostalgic with a lakeside screening on Friday of the iconic film, Saturday learn dance steps, enjoy more entertainment, attempt the watermelon race or the famous lake lift. Rumbling Bald Resort does a great Dinner and Dancing under the stars on Saturday evening.
