Originally from Melbourne, Florida, Nick and Kristen come from very different backgrounds. Kristen has been in the hospitality industry for as long as she can remember, working in everything from yacht clubs to retirement communities. Nick served as a Merchant Marine and continues to serve in the Navy Reserves. Despite their different paths, Nick and Kristen actually attended the same kindergarten class.

In 2020, they found their dream home in Annapolis, Maryland. Just days after closing, Nick’s mother—who has lived in Chimney Rock for over 13 years—mentioned that the Broad River Inn was for sale. Curious and a bit spontaneous, they decided to take a trip to see it for themselves

Their dream of becoming innkeepers became a reality almost overnight. They never even unpacked their moving truck; they simply pointed it in a new direction and started a brand new chapter.

Being innkeepers is far more than a job for us. It's a calling, a lifestyle, and a way to create meaningful experiences for every guest who walks through our doors. Chimney Rock quickly became home, a place where we knew we wanted to put down roots.

We made it through the uncertainty of COVID, and we believed we could weather anything. But Hurricane Helene changed everything. The storm left our business devastated. The Broad River Inn, a place filled with love, laughter, and countless memories, now needs your help.
