After Hurricane Helene swept through Chimney Rock, the landscape we knew and loved was nearly unrecognizable. Once a peaceful, 30-foot-wide stream winding through the heart of town, it surged with unimaginable force — widening to over 300 feet in some areas. The river completely changed course, cutting a new path through the landscape and taking everything in its way. Steel bridges were twisted and swept away, buildings were torn from their foundations, and what was once familiar ground is now riverbed. The power of the water left behind a stark and humbling reminder of nature’s force, and a community determined to rebuild from the ground up.
Follow us as we rebuild our dream.
